LAWTON -- The Cameron baseball team is off to their best start since 2012 after a 3-0 weekend in Grand Prairie, Texas. The Aggies started off the SAU DII Classic by rallying past No. 19 Southern Arkansas 7-6 on Friday. CU's batters scattered 13 hits, which is the most for the Aggies since a 15-6 win at McCord Field on April 15, 2014 against Southwestern Oklahoma. Cameron pitchers would strike out 14 batters in the winning effort for the most by a CU pitching staff since Feb. 19, 2002 matching a total they did at home against Mid-America Bible. The Aggies returned to the diamond on Saturday, defeating East Central 2-1 and Washburn 4-1 in their second game of the afternoon. Through the weekend, the CU pitching staff held opposing hitting to a .184 average and just over two runs per game.

About Southern Nazarene (0-4) Southern Nazarene heads into the home-and-home series with the Aggies dropping four games at Texas-Permian Basin. Crimson Storm batters went .216 at the plate in the losses with their pitching staff giving up just under five runs a game. Junior Anthony Wiggins batted .500 with a pair of doubles and triple to lead SNU; he also made one start on the hill and was charged with a loss going five innings with three runs given up.

In the GAC preseason coaches' poll SNU was picked to finish last out of 12 teams in the league following a 2015 season where they went 13-25 and 8-19 in the GAC. Â Â

The series will be the first meeting between the two Oklahoma programs.

Bronson Pulgados had a monster first week with the Aggies batting .667 with eight hits in 12 at bats. The junior transfer from Kea'au, Hawaii slugged 1.000 with four doubles; three of those came in a 4-1 win over Washburn, which was one short of tying a LSC record.Â
In all three contests, Pulgados had a multi-hit game and scored five including the go-ahead RBI in the top of the ninth against Southern Arkansas to win 7-6.Â
