Baseball prepares for home series with West Texas A&M

LAWTON -- The Aggies will look to defend their home record against No. 17 West Texas A&M as Cameron's perfect 11-0 start came to a halt in their Lone Star Conference opener falling 9-0 last Friday at Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Aggies are 12-3 overall after going 1-4 in the road series with the Javelinas. Cameron would halt the Javelinas ten game streak in the fourth game to pick up their first LSC win in a 7-3 contest.
 
As a team, Cameron is hitting .337 with a 3.63 ERA pitching staff. Cody Bower leads the Aggies batting .431 (2nd LSC) with 22 hits, 15 RBI, 3 homeruns and is one of four Aggies to have six doubles on the season. Javarias Banks (2-1) leads the Aggies on the mound with 22 innings pitched with a 4.09 ERA.

Additionally, the series with West Texas A&M has been moved back one day and will now start on Saturday with a single nine inning game at 2 p.m., with a doubleheader on Sunday starting a 1 p.m., and concluding on Monday with a nine inning game at 1 p.m.

About No. 17 West Texas A&M (14-4)
- The Buffs are 3-1 in the LSC after opening conference play with Tarleton State. WTAMU dropped two spots down to No. 17 in the NCBWA Division II poll.
- The road trip to Cameron will be the Buffs first following an 11 game home stand where they went 9-2; they are 2-1 on the road this season.
- As a team, the Buffs are hitting .326, one spot behind Cameron in the LSC, while their pitching staff has a 3.75 ERA.
- WTAMU has two hitting above .400 in Nick Chapman (.415) and Matt Cole (.409).
- Trace Hansen leads WTAMU with 30 hits, 9 doubles, and 7 stolen bases. He was named LSC Hitter of the Week after batting .556 with a team-high 10 hits, nine runs scored, four doubles and three home runs.
- Austin Moore (3-1) was named LSC co-pitcher of the week after pitching a 7-0 shutout over Tarleton State where he fanned 12 and walked none, while allowing just two hits and holding the Texans to a .091 batting average.
