LAWTON, Okla. – The Aggie softball team will launch Lone Star Conference play in Denton, Texas for a three game series with Texas Woman's on Friday and Saturday.
 
The 10-3 Aggies will contest with the 8-5 Pioneers for their 44th matchup with TWU leading the overall historical series 29-14-1. Last season, Cameron took 3-of-4 games against the Pioneers in Lawton.
 
CU enters conference action with a seven game winning streak as they swept their doubleheader with Southeastern Oklahoma and won all five games at the Lady Buff Invite last week, three of those games were won by run rule.
 
In Canyon, Texas, the Aggies highlighted with a 19-7 win over Missouri Southern where they accounted for 18 hits and five home runs. Paige Daino recorded a game high 6 RBI, and Brenna Busby reached base nine times.
 
Across the week, pitcher Bethany Hines (6-2) added four wins to her record and one save after giving up just seven earned runs in 28.2 innings. Callie Busby led at the plate with 11 hits and 10 runs across the week and currently leads the LSC with 21 hits and seven doubles on the season.
 
The Pioneers recently split their double header home opener with Oklahoma Christian on Wednesday, taking game one 1-0 and falling in the nightcap 8-0.
 
In that doubleheader, leading Pioneer hitter Nicole Nordie was kept quiet recording no hits and just one run. On the season, she is batting .486 with 18 hits and 11 RBI. She has also swiped seven bags this season matched by teammate Tara Solomon.
 
In the circle, Abby Walker (5-1) leads the league in strikeouts with 49 and holds a 2.63 ERA.
Hailey Dixon (2-0) is next for TWU with a 4.29 ERA.
 
Friday's double header will begin at 4 p.m. and the teams will start their final game at noon on Saturday in Denton.
