LAWTON, Okla. – The Aggies will open their home season with a double header against Southeastern Oklahoma State on Tuesday. Last weekend, Cameron played at the Savage Storm's regional invitational where they played six games in three days splitting each of their double headers.

Both the Aggies and Savage Storm defeated Emporia State while falling to Pittsburgh State during the invite. On opening day, Cameron defeated last year's Heartland Conference champion St. Mary's 4-3 but would fall to the Rattlers in the tournament cap 9-1 in five innings after being limited to just two hits and had four errors.

CU's second day split was a result of a 4-3 win over St. Edward's in their first game but then fell 6-4 in game two against Texas A&M-International.

Freshman Callie Busby had a great collegiate debut by hitting .533 on the weekend with eight hits. Fellow freshman Kaylyn Smith scored five runs during the invitational, three of which occurred in one game against Pittsburgh State.

Paige Daino matched Smith by crossing the plate five times, two of those trips resulting from home runs. Breezy McComas hit the other home run for the Aggies, and she accounted for 3 RBI, seven hits and 14 total bases to start her senior campaign.

Freshman Bethany Hines led in the circle, going 2-2 and gathering one save as she compiled a 3.59 ERA to start.

For the Savage Storm, their biggest excitement of the invitational came with a 13-12 win in an extra frame over Missouri Southern State. The Savage Storm manufactured seven runs in the fifth inning and would later win with a three-run walkoff homer by Mykaela Wallace.

Wallace totaled 17 bases on the weekend off of nine hits, two of which were triples. Destiny Riddle helped SEOSU's offense with nine hits, four doubles and seven RBI.

Savage Storm pitcher Emily Cudd went 3-0 in the circle, striking out 11 total.

The contest between the Aggies and Savage Storm will be their first since 2012 where SEOSU swept the double header in Lawton.
