LAWTON, Okla. – The Aggies experienced their first shutout of the season as Tarleton State defeated them 8-0 on Saturday afternoon at McCord Field.
 
Cameron was out-hit by the Texans 12-5, with Anthony Acevedo being the only Aggie with multiple hits following a 2-for-3 day at the plate. Micah Kaaukai, Cody Bower and Leno Ramirez each recorded one hit each.
 
Throughout the game, Cameron only had two runners in scoring position in the second and seventh innings, but a strikeout and groundout would retire the sides respectively.
 
The contest remained scoreless until the fifth inning when TSU's B. Adams hit an RBI single. In the seventh, Adams would hit a two run homer over left field to put his team up 3-0.
 
The ninth inning is where the Texans tacked on five insurance runs. They scored one unearned run off a first baseman error and the following at-bat, J. Shelby drilled a three-run triple. They capped off the scoring with one last RBI single.
 
Cameron had nothing doing in the ninth, and ended the game by grounding into a double play.
 
Reid Garrett (1-3) was charged with the loss after pitching the first six innings where he allowed two runs. Oswaldo Godina faced three batters in the seventh and Blake Welch finished the game on the mound with a final 2.2 innings of work.
 
The Aggies (15-5) will complete their series with TSU (14-6) on Sunday for a single nine inning game starting at 1 p.m.
