LAWTON, Okla. -- The Aggie women will look for their second straight Lone Star Conference win of the season as they host Red River rival Midwestern State on Tuesday night.

Natalie Halbleib had a strong week for CU last week, averaging 20 points and 12 rebounds to go along with four blocks and four steals.
2. With her two triples against UT Permian Basin,
Ava Battese tied and broke the program record for three pointers made in a career; she now has 181 in three seasons at CU.
3. During their two game win-streak, MSU Texas has had five players reach double-figures with Chelcie Kizart leading the way against UT Permian Basin with 15 points and Annette Dukes scoring a team-high 17 points against Western New Mexico.
4. The Mustangs are ranked ninth in the nation and first in the Lone Star Conference in total blocks (78) and second nationally and first in the league in blocks per game(6.0).
5. Tuesday's game will be the 74th meeting of the two teams in program history.
About the Aggies:
Cameron is now 5-9 on the season and 2-4 in league play after their 1-1 split last week against UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico. In their 67-64 loss to WNMU, the Aggies scored 25 points in the fourth quarter to get to within three points, but they could not overcome their 8-28 first half; Halbleib led the way with 17 points and 10 rebounds, 12 and six of those game in the second half respectively. CU bounced back with a 77-67 overtime win against UTPB. The Aggies outscored their opponent 14-4 in the final five minutes, with nine points coming from Halbleib, who scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the win.
The Aggies are scoring 70.6 points per game in 2018-19, but are being outscored by their opposition by 6.8. They are shooting 39.4 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from three point range, and 67.7 percent from the free throw line. CU grabs 40.6 rebounds per game to go along with an average of 12.4 assists, 6.1 steals, and 3.2 blocks.
Halbleib leads CU with 13.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game. Freshman
Maighan Hedge is second with 13.6 points per outing, and leads the team with 2.7 assists per contest. Additionally, Battese has a league best 38 made three pointers and averages 10.3 points and 3.2 rebounds. Additionally,
Parfitt McNair averages 9.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, while
Lejha Smith averages 6.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks.
Scouting the Mustangs:
Midwestern State is 5-8 on the season and 2-4 in league play after taking down WNMU and UTPB last week. They outscored their opposition by an average of 28 points, shooting 50 percent against the Falcons and 46 percent against the Mustangs. Kizart led the way with 14.5 points during the two game stretch, while Kityana Diaz scored 12 points per game.
The Mustangs are averaging 71.5 points per game in 2018-19 and have a scoring margin of 10.7. They are shooting just over 43 percent from the floor while hitting on 26.2 percent of their three point attempts and 69.6 percent of their free throws. MSU out-rebounds the opposition by 5.9 and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.0 with 16.7 assists per game. Defensively, they average 8.8 steals and 6.0 blocks, which is tops in the LSC.
Individually, sophomore Hannah Reynolds leads the team with 10.8 points per game and is shooting over 48 percent from the field. She is also grabbing 6.0 rebounds per outing and has 36 total blocks, which is top-20 in the nation and first in the conference. Kizart is also averaging in double-figures, scoring 10.2 points per game, while Diaz and Cathcart are averaging right around nine points and four rebounds.
The Series Against MSU:
In their 73 matchups, MSU leads 45-28, but in Aggie Gym, the series is tied 18-18. In 2016, the Aggies snapped a 13-1 stretch for the Mustangs and have won the last six. Last season, Cameron took down their rival 73-56 at home and 69-55 on the road. In the first battle of the season, the Black and Gold shot 40 percent from the field and went 10-14 from the foul line, as Battese scored 15 points with three made three pointers in the win. Later on in the season, Cameron forced MSU into 22 turnovers, 13 of which came on steals, while
Parfitt McNair and
Jazmin Luster combined for 22 points and
Lejha Smith had a team-high 13 rebounds.

Cameron ends a five game home stretch with their battle against MSU, and will next face Texas Woman's on Saturday, Jan. 19 in Denton, Texas. They will then travel to Angelo State on Jan. 24 and Texas A&M-Kingsville on Jan. 26.
