LAWTON, Okla. -- The Cameron women's basketball team begins a five game Lone Star Conference home stand with games against Tarleton State on Thursday and Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday.

Starting 5:
1. Cameron ranks in the top-10 in Division II and first in the Lone Star Conference in three pointers made (114), attempted (327), and made per game (10.4).
2. After sitting out all last season, senior
Natalie Halbleib has bounced-back and currently leads the LSC in field goals attempted and three point field goals attempted, made, and made per game.
3. Tarleton State has had four Lone Star Conference Player of the Week honors so far this season, with Kaylee Allen earning two offensive and one defensive honor and McKinley Bostad adding another offensive award.
4. Allen and Mackenzie Hailey are tied for fourth in the league with 15 points per outing, while Hailey is seventh in the LSC with 7.1 rebounds per game and Allen ranking second with an average of three steals.
5. Texas A&M-Commerce averages 43.8 rebounds per outing and is seventh in the nation with a 12.2 rebounding margin.
About the Aggies:
Cameron owns a 3-7 overall record and an 0-2 LSC mark entering the heart of their season. They have won just one of their last six games, and most recently fell in an exhibition at Stephen F. Austin 86-59.
Ava Battese had a team-high 14 points, while
Andrea Martinez scored 10 points off the bench.
The Aggies are scoring 69.8 points per game, while allowing 78.4 to their opposition. CU is shooting 38.9 percent from the floor, 35 percent from three, and 67.9 percent from the foul line. They lead the conference with 406 total rebounds, while dishing out 12.2 assists per outing compared to 19.8 turnovers per game. The Black and Gold also averages 6.1 steals and 2.4 blocks.
Leading the way for CU is freshman
Maighan Hedge, who is averaging 14.8 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per outing while shooting 43 percent from the perimeter and 90.9 percent from the free throw line. Halbleib averages 14.4 points and 6.4 rebounds, while
Ava Battese, who is just 13 three pointers made away from tying the program's career record, averages 9.5 points. Additionally,
Lejha Smith leads the team with 6.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per contest.
Scouting the TexAnns:
The Tarleton State women's basketball team enters their contest with the Aggies with an 8-2 overall record, a 1-1 league mark, and on a three game win streak. They have won four out of their last five games, beating East Texas Baptist 74-47 in an exhibition last Saturday. Mackenzie Hailey led the way with a 22 point, 11 rebound double-double to go along with six steals, while Allen added 13 points.
Allen, who is averaging 15 points, is shooting 49.6 percent from the floor, 36.2 percent from three, and 80.8 percent from the charity stripe, while Hailey, also averaging 15 points, is hitting her shots at a 51.3 percent clip while going 28-38 from the foul line. Bolstad is also scoring in double-figures (13.0 ppg) and leads the squad with 3.3 assists per outing.
The Series Against TSU:
The Aggies lead the all-time series 17-16, while the series is tied 8-8 in games played in Lawton. Most recently, CU has won seven of the last 10 meetings, but has gone 2-3 in the last five. The TexAnns won 86-81 last time out behind 25 points and 10 rebounds from Hailey and 19 points and nine rebounds from Katie Webster.
Parfitt McNair led the Aggies with 20 points and Smith chipped in 16.
Scouting the Lions:
Texas A&M-Commerce enters the first week of 2019 with a 6-4 overall record and a 1-1 league mark. They have won three straight games, including a big 128-33 win over Dallas Christian on Dec. 29. In the blowout win, the Lions shot 55.8 percent from the field and recorded 24 steals. Eight players scored in double-figures for TAMUC, with Chania Wright leading the way with 21 points while Tac Agang (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Princess Davis (11 points, 10 assists) each had a double-double.
Despite their four losses, the Lions are outscoring opponents by 13.6 points, averaging 74.9 points per outing. They are shooting 41.9 percent from the floor, 29.7 percent from the perimeter, and 68.5 percent from the foul line. They also average 16.2 assists, 10.2 steals, and 2.8 blocks per game. Wright leads the way with 13 points per game, shooting 39.4 percent from three. Davis is second on the team with an 11.5 scoring average and second in the conference with 4.9 assists per game. Additionally, Agang and Alexis Bryant are both averaging over six rebounds and each have eight blocks on the season.
The Series Against TAMUC:
The Lions lead the all-time series 27-23, but are 9-14 while playing at the Aggie Gym. In the last ten meetings, TAMUC is 6-4, including going 2-1 in their three matchups last season. Their last battle was an overtime thriller in the first round of the LSC Tournament. The Lions used a 32 point fourth quarter and outscored CU 11-7 in overtime to secure the 93-89 win. Davis had 27 points for Commerce, while Battese led the Black and Gold with 29 points, going 8-13 from the field, 7-9 from three, and 6-6 from the foul line.

The Aggies will continue their home stand next week as they host Western New Mexico on Thursday, Jan. 10 and then UT Permian Basin on Saturday, Jan. 12.
