LAWTON, Okla. -- The Cameron women's basketball team travels to No. 19 Angelo State on Thursday and Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday to wrap up the first half of Lone Star Conference play.

1. After her 26 points against Texas Woman's last Saturday, Cameron freshman
Maighan Hedge has now scored 20 or more points in four times this season; she has averaged 16 points and 3.3 assists over the last three games.
2. Senior
Natalie Halbleib has made a case to be the comeback-player of the year in the conference, scoring in double-figures in all but two of CU's 16 games this season; the Aurora, Colo. native has averaged 18.5 points and 9.3 rebounds over the last four games.
3. Angelo State is ranked No. 19 in both the WBCA and D2SIDA top-25 polls, with their only losses this season coming against 11-5 St. Mary's and ranked West Texas.
4. The Rambelles lead the Lone Star Conference in fewest fouls, fewest turnovers, scoring defense, and scoring margin.
5. Texas A&M-Kingsville leads the LSC with 354 free throw attempts and is third in the league with 243 free throws made.
About the Aggies:
Cameron enters their final two games of the first half of league play with a 6-10 overall record and a 3-5 league mark. They are currently tied for seventh in the conference standings with MSU and TWU.
The Aggies score just over 71 points per game while giving up almost 76 to their opponents. They are shooting 39.9 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from three, and 67.2 percent from the foul line. CU grabs 41.0 rebounds per game and averages 12.4 assists, 6.3 steals, and 3.4 blocks per game. They lead the LSC in three point field goals attempted, made, per game, and defensive rebounds.
Hedge and Halbleib are averaging just over 14 points per outing to lead Cameron, while Hedge leads CU with 2.9 assists per game, and Halbleib is tied with
Lejha Smith for a team leading 6.9 rebounds per outing. Halbleib also leads CU with an average of 1.3 steals and Smith has a team best 1.5 blocks per game. Additionally,
Ava Battese is third on the team with 9.9 points per game to go along with her league leading 42 three pointers made and
Parfitt McNair is fourth with a 9.6 scoring average.
Scouting the Rambelles:
Angelo State currently leads the Lone Star Conference with their 7-1 league record and 12-2 overall mark. Most recently the took down UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico both by over 10 points. Against the Falcons, Marquita Daniels led the team with 18 points, while De'Anira Moore added 16 and Catara Samuel had 15 in the 74-63 win. Two days later, ASU beat the Mustangs 72-60 behind 17 points from Asia Davis and 16 from Moore.
The Rambelles are outscoring their opponents by a margin of 17.9, while shooting 42.1 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from the perimeter, and 69.4 percent from the foul line. They are also averaging 40.9 rebounds, 12.6 assists, 9.6 steals, and 2.4 blocks per outing. Daniels leads ASU with 15.3 points per game to go along with 5.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and a league leading 3.5 steals per game. Moore chips in 14.4 points per contest, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks while Dezirae Hampton averages 13.7 points.
The Series Against ASU:
Angelo State leads the all-time series against Cameron 26-19, winning seven of the last ten meetings. A year ago, the Rambelles took both games of the season series winning 84-70 at home and 75-60 in Lawton. In San Angelo, McNair led CU with 24 points and Battese added 15, while Daniels and Moore both had 20+ point games to lead ASU. Daniels had another big game in the second game of the season, scoring 27 points, while Moore had 16 and McNair and Battese combined for 28 for the Aggies.
Scouting the Javelinas:
Texas A&M-Kingsville is now 7-8 overall and 4-4 in league play after winning four of their last five contests. Most recently they won a 64-62 battle against Western New Mexico and then took down UTPB 78-71 two days later. Against the Mustangs, Brynae Thompson led her team with 25 points, while Danielle Meador added an 11 point, 11 rebound double-double in the win. Chloe Lane was the high-scorer against the Falcons, dropping 21 in the win, while Meador added 17, Thompson had 16, and Bri-Anna Soliz grabbed 17 rebounds.
The Javelinas are averaging just 59.9 points per game, shooting 34.5 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from deep, and 67.1 percent from the foul line. They are giving up just over 67 points to their opponents and are being out-rebounded by 4.6. Thompson leads the LSC and her team with 15.9 points per game, while Lane is averaging just under 11 points and 2.3 steals. Soliz leads TAMUK with 6.9 rebounds per game, and Lane is second with 5.9 boards per outing.
The Series Against TAMUK:
Cameron leads the all-time series 23-17, wining eight of the last ten meetings. Last season, CU took both matchups, winning 51-39 in the first game in Kingsville, behind 11 points from McNair. The second battle of the season between the two teams was a triple-overtime thriller in which the Aggies won 92-91. The Black and Gold got a 20 point outing from McNair, a 13 point outing from Battese, and a 12 point, 13 rebound double-double from Smith in the win.

Cameron will be at home for their next two games before hitting the road for five straight. They will welcome Eastern New Mexico into the Aggie Gym on Thursday, Jan. 31 and the ranked West Texas A&M Lady Buffs on Saturday, Feb. 2.
