Last time out:
The Aggies were on fire from three-point range in their 90-78 win over UT Permian Basin last Saturday, their second straight win to start Lone Star Conference play. CU fell one trey shy of a program record, going 15-34 in the victory while also making a season-high 21 free throws. Cameron led by just five point entering the final frame, but the Black and Gold were a perfect 13-13 from the foul line in the final 10 minutes and got 16 points from Battese in the fourth quarter alone.

Battese finished with a career-high 29 points, going 7-13 from three and 8-8 from the free throw line. Hedge chipped in 23 points on 7-18 shooting from the field with five triples and was 4-7 from the charity stripe. Sophomore Stephanie Peterson recorded CU's first double-double of the season with 11 points and 14 rebounds, while adding six assists, four shy of the rare triple-double. Peterson also added two blocks, while Battese and Hedge combined for five of CU's nine steals.

About the Aggies:
For the first time since January of last year, the Cameron women have won two games in a row after beating UTPB last weekend. Now 3-5 overall and 2-0 in league play, the Black and Gold averages 66 points per game while shooting just over 36 percent from the field. They make 7.6 treys each outing at a 31 percent clip while ranking fourth in the LSC with a 74 percent free throw clip. Despite increasing their assists numbers to 11.6 per game, CU still struggles handling the ball, turning it over 20.9 times per game. Defensively, the record 7.3 swipes and 2.9 blocks per contest, while allowing opponents to shoot almost 44 percent from the floor.

Hedge and Battese lead CU with 17.3 points per game. The sophomore Hedge has scored 20 or more points in five of CU's eight games and averages 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists as well. In the three games that she has played this season, Battese has reached double-figures with 12 of her 15 made field goals coming from beyond the three-point line. Additionally, Peterson has averaged 10.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists over CU's last two games. The Broomfield, Colo. native averages 8.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists on the season.

Scouting the Lady Chaps:
Lubbock Christian enters the week ranked No. 2 in the WBCA poll and No. 1 in the D2SIDA rankings. LCU scores just over 70 points per game, but their strength is on the defensive end where they hold opponents to 56.6 points per game while shooting 32.7 percent from the field. A big part of their top-10 ranked field goal defense is their shot blocking ability, averaging 5.9 swats per game, which is seventh best in the country. The Lady Chaps excel at converting their foul shots, making 13.9 per outing at a 79.6 percent clip.

Chitsey is one of three LCU players averaging double-figures, leading the squad with 15.3 points per game. On top of leading the team in scoring, rebounding, and blocks, the senior forward is shooting over 45 percent from the field and has gone 31-38 from the foul line to start the year. Allie Schulte averages 13.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while leading the team with 21 steals on the season. Ashton Duncan is the Lady Chaps' top three-point shooting, as she is 22-56 through nine games and averaged 10.6 points per outing.

Scouting the Rambelles:
Angelo State is on a three-game win streak, and is 5-2 on the year and 2-1 in league play. Their two loses were against Harding, 89-67 on Nov. 15, and LCU, 75-64 on Nov. 23. They have been a strong offensive team to start the year, scoring 77.4 points per game and shooting the ball at a 40.8 percent clip from the floor. ASU also makes 17.7 free throws per game at a 68.9 percent clip, while making their three-point field goals at a 28.9 percent clip. They grab 43.6 rebounds per game and average 13.3 assists and 16.6 turnovers. Defensively, the Belles record 8.6 steals and 2.4 blocks per outing while allowing 68.6 points to their opponents.

Moore leads the team in multiple categories, including points (16.4 ppg) and rebounds (7.4). The 6-4 forward shoots over 48 percent from the floor and has gone 39-52 from the foul line through seven games. Three other Belles are averaging over 10-plus points on the season.
