The Super Regional:
The South Central Super Regional is a best of three game series between the two winners of the regional tournaments. The winner of the series will move on to the Division II College Softball World Series in Denver, Colo.

South Central Regional Recap:
After losing the opening game of the South Central Regional last week, the Aggies bounced back with four straight elimination wins to win the tournament, beating Dixie State, No. 19 Tarleton, and No. 8 Texas A&M-Commerce twice to claim the title.

During their regional tournament, the Aggies hit .322 with 32 runs scored during the five game span. Callie Busby led the way hitting .471 with five runs scored, four RBI, and hit the walk-off homer to beat Commerce and win the title. Breley Webb also hit over .460 and drove in four runs, while Raley Long and Kylie French both had four RBI as well. Additionally, CU went 18-22 on the base paths, led by C. Busby, who was 5-5 in stolen base attempts.

The Season Series:
This season, Cameron went 1-2 against the Javelinas during their three game series. CU won the opening game 6-3 on a walk-off homer by Webb, while TAMUK took game two by a score of 9-8 in eight innings and game three 8-0. The Black and Gold hit .284 as a team and combined for a 5.25 ERA during the series. Khmari Edwards hit .500 with two homers and five RBI, while Webb hit .571 with three runs driven in on the homer.

On the other side of the diamond, TAMUK hit .341 with 20 runs scored and four homers against the Aggies; they also posted a 4.27 ERA with 17 strikeouts. Roxy Chapa led the way at the plate with six hits and four RBI, while Saidi Castillo struck out 11 in the circle, but also gave up 10 earned runs in 10 innings pitched.

Aggie Records:
Not only could this weekend be historical in terms of making the National Tournament for the first time, but a couple of Aggies are on the verge of breaking program records. Hines needs just one more win in the circle to tie the program record for career wins at 56, while B. Busby needs one homerun to tie the career record of 45 and two more to tie the single-season mark of 21.

All-Region:
The Super Regional will include five players that were named to the 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches Association South Central All-Region teams. Cameron's middle infielders B. Busby and Edwards were both named to the first team, as was TAMUK pitcher Saidi Castillo. The Javelinas also had Breanna Smith and Anastasia Leibas named to the NFCA All-Region second team. Busby was also named to the D2CCA first team, while Edwards, Smith, and Castillo were named to the second team.

NFCA Freshman of the Year:
Edwards was not only selected to both all-region teams and the all-conference, but she was also recently named a finalist for the 2019 Schutt Sports/NFCA Freshman of the Year honor. This is the first time an Aggie softball player has been nominated for the award. Edwards was also the winner of the LSC's Freshman of the Year honor.
