LAWTON, Okla. -- The Cameron women's basketball team looks to score a pair of division wins as they face off against rival Midwestern State twice this week, first on Wednesday in Wichita Falls, Texas and second on Saturday in the Aggie Gym.

1. Cameron earned their first home win last Saturday against St. Edward's, a game in which the Aggies went 18-22 from the charity stripe and recorded a season-best 51 rebounds.Â
2. Sophomore
Maighan Hedge was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after averaging 24.5 points and 3.0 assists last week; Hedge scored a career-high 30 points against the Hilltoppers while shooting 50 percent from the field and going 10-12 from the charity stripe.Â
3. Against St. Mary's, CU guard
Ava Battese recorded her 1,000 career point and led the squad with 25 points while going 8-18 from long range in the loss; Battese is the 11th member of the program's 1,000-point club now with 1,032 points in four years at Cameron.
4. Midwestern State is 1-4 since the start of the new year, losing their last three games by at least 12 points each game; their won win game against UT Tyler on Jan. 2, 81-63.
5. The Mustangs are led by senior forward Elizabeth Cathcart, who averages 13.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, and junior forward Hannah Reynolds, who averages 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game; Reynolds ranks in the top-10 of the LSC in blocked shots.

After falling by 10 points against St. Mary's two nights prior, the Aggies responded with a big 81-73 win over St. Edward's last Saturday. The game was tight throughout, but a 17-11 second quarter in favor of CU was the deciding period. Cameron shot 40 percent from the field, went 7-21 from three, and was 18-22 from the foul line. They totaled four blocks and seven steals on defense and won the rebounding battle 51-30. Hedge led the way for CU with her career-best 30 points, while
Jazmin Luster added a career-high 16 points. The junior forward was 7-10 from the field and also led the squad with eight boards. Additionally,
Ava Battese chipped in 14 points, with two triples and four made free throws.Â
About the Aggies:Â
Cameron is looking for their second win-streak of the year this week after their win over SEU. Now 5-9 overall and 4-4 in league play, CU can get to above .500 in both conference and division play with a pair of wins over Midwestern State this week. The Aggies are averaging just under 70 points per game and are shooting 37.6 percent from the floor, 34.4 percent from the perimeter, and 71.4 percent from the charity stripe. They average a LSC-best 9.3 triples and 12.6 made free throws per contest. CU trails in the rebounding category by 1.7 boards per contest, while also averaging 13.5 assists compared to 18.8 turnovers per game. The Black and Gold also averages 7.4 steals and 2.9 blocks defensively while allowing opponents to shoot 44.6 percent from the field.Â
Hedge leads the team and is third in the conference with 18.9 points per game. The sophomore is also averaging 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting over 39 percent from the field, 37 percent from three, and 80 percent from the foul line. Battese, who has yet to qualify for the league statistical rankings, is right behind her younger teammate with 18.3 points per game. The senior guard is averaging 3.4 boards, 1.4 helpers, and 1.2 swipes and shoots the three-ball, which she already has 44 of this season, at a 44.4 percent clip. Additionally,
Amaka Nwakamma averages 9.7 points and a team-best 5.2 rebounds, while freshman
Stephanie Peterson averages 6.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per outing.Â
Scouting the Mustangs:Â
Statistically, Midwestern State is very similar to the Aggies. They are 5-7 overall, 3-5 against conference opponents, and 1-1 when playing division foes. MSU averages 68.4 points per game and shoots over 40 percent from the field. They struggle from three, making just 4.4 triples per outing at a 27.2 percent clip, but make 14.2 foul shots per game at a 69.1 percent clip. The Mustangs grab just over 39 rebounds per game, average 14.5 assists, and 19.4 turnover per outing. They also total 7.8 steals and 4.3 blocks per game, while allowing the opposition to shoot 40.7 percent from the floor against them.Â
Cathcart leads the way with 13.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. The 6-0 forward is shooting 47.9 percent from the field, 40 percent from three, and 78.4 percent from the charity stripe. Additionally, Reynolds averages 12.8 points and 4.4 rebounds and is one of the top shot blockers in the LSC with 1.5 per contest. Senior guard Mica Schneider averages 8.1 points and 3.5 assists, while freshman Frances King leads the team with 4.1 assists and 1.9 steals per outing to go along with her 6.1 scoring average.Â

Following their battles with rival MSU, the Aggies will be back on the road for a pair of games against UAFS on Jan. 23 and Oklahoma Christian on Jan. 25. Cameron returns home to wrap up January against Texas A&M International on Jan. 30 and then open February against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Feb. 1.Â
