CU baseball makes home debut against St. Edward's

LAWTON – The Cameron Aggies look to ride a two-game winning streak into their home-opening series against St. Edwards this weekend at McCord Field.

Cameron opened their 2022 baseball season last weekend in Kingsville, Texas against the Javleinas, who were picked fourth in the Lone Star Conference preseason baseball poll. The Aggies, who were selected second to last, made their presence felt as CU salvaged a series split winning the last two games of the stretch thanks to the pitching staff allowing just two runs and five hits combined.

At the plate, Jordan Harrison-Dudley raked, hitting .400 with a 1.267 OPS, including a double, and launching two home runs on his way to five RBIs on the week. Tyler Coleman and Beau Williams each are hitting above .300, with Erik Ohman not far behind turning in a .294 average.

On the Bump, the Aggies skipper Kyle Williams used a rotation of Donovan Greenwell, Marcos Feria, Kalen Haynes, and Weston Max. Haynes, a lengthy southpaw hurled six innings of two-hit baseball allowing two walks and just one run with five strikeouts. He and the bullpen gave up just the two runs in the game three win, while Max and Drew Henderson gave up just three hits in the finale.

St. Edward's dropped their season opener against Eastern New Mexico, who was pegged dead last in the LSC, being outdone 4-3, before ripping off a thrilling 5-4 victory and pulling away in the final two games, 12-0 and 11-6.

Josh Graham leads the way for SEU turning in a .625 average, one of six Hilltopper sluggers to post a plus 1.000 OPS, and drove in three runs last weekend.
Davis Drewek powers the SEU offense with a team-high two homers in 15 at-bats.

On the bump, Luke Short and Eric Worden lead the staff still boasting a zero ERA with six and five innings pitched respectively.

The four-game series between the Aggies and Hilltoppers will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday followed by a doubleheader on Saturday with game one starting at 1 p.m. The two teams wrap up the series on Sunday at 1 p.m. All four games will be broadcasted on the LSC Digital Network.
