Cameron drops fourth game of series against LCU

baseball starts season 0-4

Box Score Lawton – Cameron Baseball swept in series against LCU.

The Cameron Aggies Baseball team completed their series against Lubbock Christian University on Sunday afternoon.  Although the CU was not able to put one in the win column, there were some bright spots on the weekend.

The Aggies can hit the ball.  Over four games Cameron recorded 24 runs, averaging 6 runs per contest.  In game one of the series CU got eight runs across home plate.  The second game of the series really saw the bats heat up as the Aggies batted in 12 runs on the strength of two home runs, one triple, one double and 10 RBI's.  Unfortunately for Cameron the bats of their opponent were just a little hotter.

Despite the high number of runs that LCU ended with, the Aggies defense was at times firing on all cylinders.  Through 31 innings, the Cameron defense held the Chaparrals scoreless in 15 of those innings.

Cameron looks to turn things around in this early part of the season next weekend when they take on Angelo State.  The first game of the series starts at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9.
