Box Score 2 LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron baseball team fell 5-1 and 7-4 to Tarleton State on Friday afternoon at McCord Field.
With the losses the Aggies (6-14, 1-9 LSC) have dropped their last nine games in a row, all of which are in league play.
In the first game Tarleton State jumped ahead with two unearned runs in the second and one more in the third to take a 3-0 lead over Cameron.
The Aggies responded back with a run in the fourth off of a ground out to second base by
Harold Cannon to score
Jordan Climpson in from third.
However the Aggie bats would go silent after going down in order in the fifth and sixth while Tarleton State added two more insurance runs lead 5-0 into the bottom of the seventh.
Cameron knocked in a pair of hits in the last frame of the game but they would fall 5-0.
Drew Reidt (2-4) tossed a complete game while giving up five runs, two of which were earned.

In the nightcap opened out in front after
Codey McElroy and Climpson started the game with hits;
Brad Blumer then hit a sacrifice fly to score McElroy.Â
Kas Sanders added one more additional run with a single to right field to plate Climpson in from third to give CU the 2-0 lead.

Climpson kept the Aggies going in the second to drive in McElroy once again to make it a 3-0 Cameron advantage. Â

The Texans responded back with a run in the fourth off of a two out single and then tied the game with the Aggies with a pair of unearned runs.

In the fifth, Blumer leadoff the inning with single to center field and he would later be plated home from a Sanders single to put CU out in front 4-3.

Cameron's lead was short lived though and Tarleton hit a homer in the sixth to tie the game at four and pulled ahead in the seventh with a two out single to center field to give the Texans a 5-4 lead.

The Aggies coughed up insurance runs for Tarleton State in the eighth off of a passed ball and an error in the ninth let TSU take a 7-4 win in game two.

Cameron racked up a season high 13 hits in the loss with McElory going 3 for 5 with a pair of runs scored; Sanders had a pair of hits and RBI.

Brian Schwabe (0-2) was charged for the loss giving up five runs (three earned) while punching out six Texan hitters.

Weather permitting Cameron will play an single nine inning game on Saturday at 1 pm.
