Box Score CANYON, Texas – The Cameron University baseball team would fall 13-6 in their final game at #3 West Texas A&M on Sunday afternoon.
With the loss both teams split the regular season series with the Aggies taking the first pair and the Buffs winning the final two.
Cameron held the early 2-0 lead after a pair of innings before West Texas plated nine runs off of 10 hits in the home half of the third.
The Buffs added four more in the sixth off of a pair of hits and CU errors to lead 13-2.
Codey McElroy plated a run in the seventh off of a double for his sixth RBI of the weekend and
Harold Cannon hit a sacrifice fly to right field to cut down the WT lead to nine.
Cameron chipped in two more runs in the eighth after walking in a run and added one more off of a
Kas Sanders fielder's choice but the WT lead would be too much to overcome at the end of the day.
The Aggies had seven batters with a hit and six adding a RBI off of WT pitching.
Logan Fanning (0-2) was charged with the loss after going 2 1/3 innings and gave up seven runs;
Brent Hendy wrapped up the final 5 2/3 innings and allowed six runs (three earned).
Cameron will host Southwestern Oklahoma on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in a non-conference nine inning contest.Â
