Texas A&M-Kingsville is 6-7 overall this season and also went 1-3 in their first conference series, in which they played West Texas A&M. The Javelinas average .263/.353/.364 at the plate, and on the mound, they have a team ERA of .372, with opposing teams hitting .279 off of them.

The Javelinas have four players with an above .300 average: Derrick Walls (.370), Ryan Guedry (.351), Taylor Taska (.333), and Blake Johnson (.333). Taska has a team leading 10 RBI and three homers, while Walls leads the team with nine runs scored.

Taska is also one of TAMUK's ace pitchers, going 13.1 innings with an ERA of 1.35. The other two pitchers of note for the Javelinas are Denver Diefenbach, who has an ERA of 1.89 in 19 innings pitched, and Dallas Ponder, who leads the team with 20 strikeouts and 21 innings pitched and has an ERA of 3.86.
