Aggies bats come alive in 15-6 win against Southwestern Oklahoma

Box Score LAWTON, Okla. – Cameron's bats came alive in the later innings as they took down Southwestern Oklahoma 15-6 at McCord Field on Tuesday afternoon.

Aggie hitters broke through with 10 runs in the last two innings on Bulldog pitching for their 13th win of the season in the non-conference contest.

The Bulldogs would jump ahead early with a pair of runs in the second and three more in the third before Cameron responded back with a four spot in the bottom of third.

Codey McElroy doubled to left field to score Kas Sanders and Brandon Raidy, and then Matt Nilmeyer plated McElroy in with a single.   Harold Cannon kept the hit parade going with a double to left center to score Nilmeyer in to cut the Southwestern Oklahoma lead to a run.

After a pair of scoreless innings, Cannon led the sixth inning off with a double from Cannon and Jordan Climpson hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at five each.

The Bulldogs would retake the lead shortly in the seventh before Cameron knocked in three runs in the bottom half of the inning and they batted around in the eighth with seven runs to beat the Bulldogs 15-6.

Cannon came off of the bench with three doubles and a pair of RBI, McElroy had a pair of doubles and three RBI, and Nilmeyer pulled through a hit and three RBI.

Ryan Daspin (1-0) came out of the bullpen with four innings of work in the win, he would only give up a run, and strike out three SWOSU batters.

With the win the Aggies move to 13-23 overall and they will return to Lone Star Conference play on April 18-19 for a three game series at Tarleton State.
