LAWTON, Okla. -- Cameron will host Texas A&M-International for a three game series at McCord Field from March 3-4.
The 11-3 Aggies will look to recover from their first series loss to Oklahoma Christian last weekend where they dropped 2 of 3 in home-and-home action.
CU snapped a six game streak in the series opener in Edmond, falling 7-3 after experiencing a late offensive lull- going hitless through four innings. However,
Micah Kaaukai experienced success, reaching base on every at bat in the opener.
Oswaldo Godina was the only other Aggie with multiple hits recording two.
Reid Garrett was charged with the loss.
Then the following day in Lawton, Kaaukai lifted the Aggies to 5-3 game one victory with a two run homer where he also reached base in every plate appearance, batting 3-for-3 and had a stolen base in each game of the series. In the double header night cap, CU fell 6-4 with
Jorden Fields leading the Ags with two hits and
Anthony Acevedo hit a solo home run.
Javarias Banks earned the win in game one by striking out both batters he faced but would be charged with the loss in game two after appearing in the ninth, setting up for the save, but instead allowed four OCU runs to move to 2-2 on the mound.
Overall, Kaaukai now leads that Aggies with a .486 batting average and .640 on base percentage.
Cody Bower still leads in slugging percentage (.769), runs scored (15), hits (22), doubles (5) and home runs (3). Godina has a team best 3.38  ERA followed by Garrett at a 4.74 ERA.
Texas A&M International is 3-6 overall heading into their series with the Aggies. Of their six losses, all but one has been giving up by more than nine runs.
The Dustdevils are on a three game skid and, on Sunday, dropped a doubleheader to undefeated Texas A&M-Kingsville, 2-16 and 4-14. In game one, TAMUI was out-hit 15-6, and they committed four errors. The following game, both sides turned four double plays, and the Dustdevils allowed 20 hits to their nine.
Sergio Pollorena leads TAMIU at the plate batting .367 with a .700 slugging percentage. He has hit three home runs on the young season. Behind him is Alexander Cabezas hitting .360.
Osvaldo Raya (0-1) has a team best 3.55 ERA and holds opponents to a .255 batting average. Kyle Kieschnick (1-1) is next with a 6.75 ERA. Hugo Mendiola has 2 saves.
The Aggies and Dust Devils lead off play with a single game at 2 p.m. on Friday, followed by a Saturday double header starting at noon.
