LAWTON, Okla. – The Aggie baseball team will leadoff action at McCord Field again this weekend, March 10-12, as they host Tarleton State to close out a nine game home stand.

While Cameron will contest with Lone Star Conference opponent, Tarleton State, the upcoming four game series will not count toward league standings, nor will any series scheduled during weeks 5-7. LSC teams are playing a 10-week schedule with a four-game series against every other team during weeks 8-14 determining the LSC Champion.Â

The 14-3 Aggies will enter their contest with the Texans boasting an 11-1 home record and with the league's batting leader and current hitter of the week,
Micah Kaaukai, on their side.

Kaaukai advanced to leading the Aggies and hitting .553 on the season following a standout performance in CU's 3-0 sweep of Texas A&M-International last week. The junior from Hilo, Hawaii hit .750 on the series, recording nine hits, nine RBI, hit two triples and one home run.

Cody Bower is also among the league's top-10 hitters, currently in seventh batting .446 with a conference best slugging percentage of .862. Against the Dust Devils, Bower recorded seven hits, 10 RBI, and had a triple in each game.

Victor DeJesus also highlighted with six hits and nine runs.

Gaige Vines and
Pierce Edwards each earned wins during respective games on the mound.

Last season, Cameron won both their series against the Texans, winning 3-1 in Lawton and going 2-1 on the road. Presently, TSU is 12-5 overall and 2-1 in away contests.

Most recently, the Texans won a single 6-2 game on Wednesday against St. Mary's. Their designated hitter, Dylan Lemons, hit a grand slam in the eighth inning to break his team out of a 2-2 tie. The homer marked his seventh of the season and he leads them with a .745 slugging percentage on the year.

Austin Call leads TSU with .377 batting average followed by Blake Adams at .371. Adams went 2 for 4 in Wednesday's game.

Six Texans put in work on the mound with Connor Fletcher (3-0) earning the win in one inning pitched. He has 26 total strikeouts this season

Nathan Hickey (3-1) has a team best 1.93 ERA through 23.1 innings this season and has kept opponents to .159 at the plate. Eddie Avila has been credited with the most saves at four.

Action will start Friday with a noon doubleheader followed by a single game at 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
