LAWTON, Okla. – After being moved back a day due to the threat of severe weather, the Aggie baseball team will host UT Permian Basin for a four game series this weekend, April 7-9.
The Series:
Originally scheduled to take place Friday-Sunday, the four game series will now be played Saturday-Monday. The two teams will begin the set with a single nine inning game at 3 p.m. on Saturday, and then will play the doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. The series finale will be played on Monday starting at 1 p.m.
About the Aggies:
Cameron is 13-18 on the year and 3-5 in Lone Star Conference play after splitting a four game trip to Eastern New Mexico a week ago. Against the Greyhounds,
Michael Flohr led CU with six hits in 12 at bats, while Alberto Morolobo had five RBI in just eight at bats.
On the season, the Aggies are hitting .252 with 157 runs scored.
Luke Hughes and Flor are the only players batting over .300, with Hughes leading the team with a .303 average. He along with
Cole Williams and
Trey Bigford have over 30 hits on the season, as Williams leads CU with 22 RBI and Bigford has a team best 24 runs scored.
The Black and Gold pitching staff has an ERA of 6.54 with 185 strikeouts in 243.2 innings pitched.
Reid Garrett has a team best 5-2 record with a 4.26 ERA and 39 Ks in 50.2 innings.
Andrew Garza has also pitched in 50.2 innings and leads the team with 42 punchouts.
Skyler Henderson has been one of the LSC's top relief men, appearing in 15 games and striking out 31 hitters while posting a .248 opponent's batting average.
Across the Diamond:
UT Permian Basin is just 4-25 this season and in their first LSC series of the year, were swept by a ranked West Texas A&M team in four games. They are batting just .220 on the season with 109 runs scored and only six total home runs. On the mound, UTPB has a team ERA of 7.79 with 209 strikeouts in 231 innings of work.
Alexander Wixson is the lone Falcon hitting over .300 with a .352 average in 54 at bats, but Mike Fernandez leads the team in just about everything else, batting .295 with 28 hits and 14 RBI. UTPB has six pitchers with over 20 innings of work this year. Alex Rivera leads the team with 41 Ks in 30.1 innings of work, while Nick Bartley has a 2.55 ERA in 24.2 innings.

Next up for Cameron will be a trip to take on No. 11 West Texas A&M for a four game set, April 13-15, in Canyon, Texas.
