Baseball adjusts schedule to Friday and Saturday doubleheaders

Quick note: Weather has pushed the series to a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday with noon start times and game two following.   

The Starting Five
1.    This is the second year in a row that the Bearcats and Aggies have squared off at McCord Field, both teams would split the two game series. 
2.    The contests with Northwest Missouri State are the final home games in three weeks, CU will play their next 10 games on the road.
3.    The second and sixth inning has been trouble spots for CU with 18 runs given up.
4.    CU's win against East Central was their second extra inning game won in 84 contests.
5.    Cameron was first to start their 2015 season in the Lone Star Conference.

CU Notebook
- Cameron's roster consists of over 30 new players to the program this spring who will be led by first year Head Coach Brady Huston.
- Tyler Cook is leading CU with a .444 batting average, has two extra base hits.
- Bryan Belote has tossed 8 1/3 innings and has a 3.24 ERA with five strikeouts.
- Leadoff hitters are batting .483 for Cameron this season, while right handed hitters are batting .329.
- Cameron was picked sixth in the Lone Star Conference despite finishing two games back of fourth place during the 2014 season.
- In 2014, the Aggies had the most players to sign with professional organizations in the South Central region with three (Codey McElroy, Tobin Mateychick, and Drew Reidt).- 
Brady Huston is only fourth different coach to lead the program in the last 39 seasons.

Northwest Missouri (1-2)
- Northwest Missouri went 1-2 in their season opening weekend in Alva, losing to Northwestern Oklahoma State and Regis in their first two games, but getting revenge on NWOSU, beating them 16-4. 
- The offensive output for NWMSU was solid in their season openers, as they hit .330 as a team with 34 runs scored, 10 doubles, two triples, and three homers, with an on base percentage of .450 and a slugging percentage of .536.
- Nick Howard leads the Bearcats, going 5-8 with 10 RBI, three runs scored, and two homers in the team's first three contests. 
- The Bearcats pitching struggled in their first three games, combing for a 6.58 ERA and a .327 opponent's batting average. The lone win of the season went to Brad Roberts, who pitched four innings against the Rangers and struck out eight, while giving up three earned runs. 
- Northwest Missouri was picked 13th in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll. They finished 2014 with at .500 with a 23-23 overall record, going 17-20 in MIAA play. 
- Head Coach Darin Loe has been at Northwest since 2000, and is the all-time winningest coach for the Bearcats with 390 wins.

Last Time Out
- Cameron fell in both games of a doubleheader against Southeastern on Feb. 7, losing game one 12-1 and then dropping game two 4-3.
- Cody Knight reached base twice and drove in CU's only run in game one, while Tyler Cook reached base all three times he came up to the plate in game two. 
- Game one's pitchers Dirk Masters and Bryan Belote combined for nine strikeouts in seven innings of work, while game two's starter, Javarias Banks, pitched a solid four innings with three strikeouts and two earned runs.

Coming Up
Cameron will play a three game series at UT-Permian Basin this coming Friday and Saturday.
