Aggies host Texans for a trio of LSC games

The Starting Five
1. This Aggies enter the series with TSU on a four game losing streak after being swept at Texas A&M-Kingsville last weekend, and have lost nine straight Lone Star Conference contests.
2. The Aggies split their four game series at TSU, taking games one and two 6-5 and 2-1 and then falling in games three and four 9-5 and 6-3.
3. After their series with the Javelinas, CU has now lost 16 games this season by three runs or less and have also lost nine times by just one run.
4. Jonathan Reyes is in the top-10 in the LSC in hits, walks, and triples, while leading CU with a .316 batting average and a .421 slugging percentage.
5. Dirk Masters leads CU on the mound, placing in the top-10 in the league in ERA, opponent's batting average, innings pitched, and strikeouts.

CU Notebook
-Cameron's roster consists of over 30 new players to the program this spring who will be led by first year Head Coach Brady Huston.
-Jonathan Reyes is leading CU with a .316 batting average, with 21 runs scored, 42 hits, 20 RBI, and a .421 slugging percentage.
-In 52.2 innings pitched, Dirk Masters has gone 4-5 with a 3.08 ERA, 60 strikeouts, and a .225 opponent's batting average.
-Cameron was picked sixth in the Lone Star Conference despite finishing two games back of fourth place during the 2014 season.
-In 2014, the Aggies had the most players to sign with professional organizations in the South Central region with three (Codey McElroy, Tobin Mateychick, and Drew Reidt).
-Brady Huston is only fourth different coach to lead the program in the last 39 seasons.

-The Texans enter the series with Cameron off of a four game split against Angelo State. They have gone 6-4 in their previous 10 conference games.
-TSU has a .258 batting average with a .378 slugging percentage, a .355 on base percentage and 77 extra base hits, 16 of those being home runs. They also have stolen 35 bases on 56 attempts.
-On the mound, the Texans have a 4.28 ERA, 217 total strikeouts, and an opponent's batting average of .284. They have a team fielding percentage of .958 with 48 errors.
-Jonathan Schmitz leads TSU and the LSC in hitting with a .392 batting average and a .496 on base percentage. Kevin Meredith leads the team with a .531 slugging percentage, 25 runs scored, 25 RBI and six homers.
-Matt Herrick has started nine games for TSU and has an ERA of 4.53 in 47.2 innings pitched with 27 strikeouts. Trevor Renfro has won 4 games and has a 4.62 ERA in 37 innings pitched with 42 strikeouts. Hunter Houston has an ERA of just 0.83 and has five saves in 21.2 innings of work with 25 punch-outs and an opponent's batting average of just .173.

Last Time Out
-Cameron fell in each of their four games against Texas A&M-Kingsville last weekend, losing game one 4-1, game two 5-3, game three 1-0, and game four 7-2.
-The Aggies struggled at the plate, hitting just .192 for the series. Nate Hale and Jonathan Reyes led CU with four hits each while both Steven Swingle and Cody Knight had a pair of RBI.
-Javarias Banks pitched a strong game in game three, going eight innings and giving up just one run on six hits with four strikeouts.

Coming Up
Following this week's action, the Aggies will gear up for another week of games as they head to Southwestern Oklahoma for a game on Tuesday, April 21 and then will return to Lawton for a three game series against Eastern New Mexico, April 24-25 for their last home games of the season
