Cameron Athletics Hall of Fame
Covarrubias transferred to Cameron after spending two years at Ventura College. A highly coveted pitcher, she ranks third all-time in career wins (28), third all-time in shutouts (8) and is the Aggie program leader with most no-hitters (3). Covarrubias pitched three straight no-hitters, with the first two as perfect games. She is Cameron's all-time leader in winning percentage (.596) was led the team in ERA during the 1997 and 1998 seasons. Additional rankings include fifth most wins in a season (15 in 1998) and second all-time in strikeouts (252). Covarrubias helped guide Cameron to a 29 win season in 1998, giving the program its first winning season in nearly two decades and the fourth best season in program history. She now teaches in the Oxnard, Calif., school system.
