Cameron Athletics Hall of Fame
Dixon served as the chief photographer for the Lawton Constitution for almost five decades. During a career spanning 1947 to 1986, he spent thousands of hours covering Cameron athletics. Dixon gave many young photographers the practical training and the encouragement to start careers of their own. Dixon's work appeared in Life Magazine, Sports Illustrated and numerous other national publications. His photographs provided the residents of southwest Oklahoma with an accurate and interesting account of the events occurring around them. Dixon was inducted into the 1991 Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2005.
